For this purpose, they are designed and created following the stipulations of the regulation that identifies their characteristics:

• They degrade by at least 90% in 6 months if in environments rich in carbon dioxide
• If they are in contact with organic matter for 3 months, at least 90% of the mass of the material must be constituted by fragments smaller than 2 mm
• They must not negatively influence composting, and have a low concentration of heavy metal additives
• The pH level, salt content, concentration of volatile solids and nitrogen, phosphorous, magnesium and potassium must return to the correct values.
